1886, 20 para black on rose postal stationery card answering part used uprated with 1 pia. blue, cancelled with clear "CONSTANTINOPLE-GALATA DEPART 2/JUILLET/1886" ds., violet Hotel de Byzance ds. alongside, addressed to ‘Victoria Club Pietermaritzburg Natal L'Afrique du Sud’, red crayon “20cts”, transit mark NEW YORK PAID ALL JUL/18/86 and MISSENT TO NEW YORK JUL/21/86 on front. Postcards were not permitted to be sent to South Africa, hence the red London instruction twoliner "POST CARDS TO THIS ADRESS CANNOT BE FORWARDED" in red was stamped on the front, arrival mark "CONSTANTINOPLE-GALATA ARRIVEE 5/AOUT/1886" on reverse,vertical fold, otherwise fine. A very scarce route and destination!

1900, Mafeking Baden-Powell 3 d. blue on blue, 18,5 mm, clear cancelled "MAFEKING, AP 25 1900" by light circular datestamp, well-centered and fresh, signed, very fine. SG £ 450 (SG 20)

Carisbrook Castle on reverse of stationery card COGH), oneliner ‘Per Dunottar Castle’ on stationery envelope 1900, four cards cancelled OCEAN POST OFFICE, Paquebot, The Union Castle Mail Steamship Natal Agency 2.JUN.1916, some different, mainly fine.

1902/12, OCEAN POST: Ten postcards, three ship cards (S.S.Kinfauns Castle and Steamer Briton) and seven Portugal Madeira Funchal cards, including basket sledge ride from Monte to Funchal, all bearing stamps from Transvaal or COGH and cancelled OCEAN POST OFFICE, some different, mainly fine.

D'EUROPE 16 MARS 58" c.d.s. alongside to Marseille with arrival mark on reverse, file fold, otherwise fine, mounted on exhibition sheet

1899, 1 sh. orange and 2 d. olive-green tied to registered cover by ‘DURBAN 17.10.99’ c.d.s., addressed to German East Africa, transit and arrival postmark ‘TANGA 6/12/99’ on reverse, two vertical folds, a rare destination and fine (Michel 51-52)

1902, King Edward VII Revenue £5 black and violet, watermarked Crown CC, unused, fine, signed.

1904, Registered envelope bearing ½ d. green, 1 d. carmine and pair 2½ d. blue, all tied by "REGISTERED JOHANNESBURG 13/JAN/04" c.d.s., oval "R" alongside, to "Hobart Tasmania 12/2/04" with arrival mark on reverse, tiny toned pinhole, otherwise fine and attractive with very unusual Australia destination
