1913, letter written from Rochefort, signed at base by Pierre LOTI (1850-1923), French Naval Officer and writer of 'Madame Chrysanthème', a novel of Japanese manners that is a precursor to Madame Butterfly and Miss Saigon, Le Roman d'un enfant (The Story of a Child), a somewhat fictionalized recollection of Loti's childhood that would greatly influence Marcel Proust; Ramuntcho (1897), The Last Days of Peking (1902); in later years he was a fervent pro-Ottoman supporter during the Balkan Wars, fine.

1840, Folded envelope preprinted pricelist for silk and other products from Naples with black oval cachet “MILLENET WALLNER & Ci. AMMINISTRAZIONE DE PACCHETTI A VAPORE FRANCESI IN NAPOLI” addressed to Napoli with red ‘OUTRE MER MARSEILLE 20 JUIN 40’ cds., and arrival mark Lyon on reverse, tiny flaw on top right, otherwise fine and very attractive ship agent mark on early advertising cover.

1848, entire folded letter from Rhodos, cancelled “SMYRNE 17.Aout.1848” cds., “Livorno Via di Mare C" in black and rate ”28" décimes alongside, sent to Livorno with arrival cds. on reverse, usual file fold and cholera slits, scarce and fine.

1899, Krone Adler Ganzsachenkarte 10 Pfennig Antwortteil retour aus Algerien, gestempelt in SIDI-BEL-ABBES ORAN 15/JANV/99, nach Blankenburg mit Ankunftsstempel 20/1/99, rückseitig viel Text und Eingangsstempel Amtsgericht Blankenburg, links Bugspur, sonst gut erhalten und eine sehr seltene Verwendung.

“MÜHLHAUSEN i. ELS 15.NOVBR.71” (Spalink 26-1) klar als Transitstempel rückseitig auf kpl. Faltbrief von “LE HAVRE 11.NOV.71” mit Frankreich Ceres 25 C. gezähnt mit GC “1769” nach Oberbruck mit deutschem Tax-Stempel “20” (Centimes) und rückseitigem Ankunftsstempel von Masmünster, in guter Erhaltung. In dieser Kombination recht selten, sign. Spalink BPP mit Attest (1973)

“MÜLHAUSEN i. ELS. BHF. 26.JAN.73” (Spalink 26-6) etwas undeutlich rückseitig als Transitstempel auf kpl. Faltbrief von “CLERMONT-DE-L'HERAULT 27.JANVR.73” mit Cerese gezähnt 15 und 25 C. mit GC “1050” nach Hagenau mit Hufeisenstempel “HAGENAU i. ELS. 30.JAN.73” (Spalink 16) als Ankunftsstempel, in guter Erhaltung. Eine ungewöhnliche Kombination mit sogen. Doppelspänner, sign. Spalink BPP

1916, Französische Besetzung: 50 C u. 1 Fr (Aufdruck auf Französisch Congo) auf Zensur- CHARGE-Wertbrief mit 7 Siegeln in die Schweiz mit deutschem R-Zettel „BONAMBASI" u. Stempel „DUALA 10.10.16".

“Aus West-Africa mit Hamburger Dampfer”, Ra2 auf 10 Pfg.(2) und 20 Pfg. auf Briefstück mit handschriftlichem Aufgabevermerk “Sette Cama 1/10 87” (Gabun)
