XXXIV VARCAR VAKUF 17/12/14 auf Feldpost-Vordruckkarte an einen serbischen Gefangenen in der Militär-Strafanstalt Arad, roter Z4 “Nur deutsche u. ungarische absolut kurze Korrespondenz wird eingehändigt! Mil. Strafanstalt”, ungarischer Zensur-Z3, ungarische Portomarke 10 F. frankiert, Stempel Arad, früheste bekannte Verwendung des Kriegsgefangenenlagerstempels.

1915, Wood card from 33rd regiment cancelled TABORI POSTA HIVATAL 915/JUL/17 to Arad with label on reverse: ‘kitunteles 33rd regimental cadets who on 15.sep. were awarded a major gold for valour in skirmishes around Gontawa. Their heroic deaths and achievements earned recognition for the country of Arad’, fine, unusual and scarce.

1915, "K.u.k. ETAPPENPOSTAMT 126 30.12.15" auf Feldpostkarte Baltin der 7.Armee mit Divisionsstempel 'K.ung. 5L Honved Infanterie Truppendivisionskompagnie' in violett aus der Bukowina nach Koloszvar. 

1917, Zwei Karten mit Stempel Feldpostamt194 (30.3.17) bzw. 346 (5.2.17) von Rumänien nach Mähren und Ungarn, dabei blauer K.u.K. KRAFTWAGENKOLONNE 204, je frühe Verwendung.

1917, ‘K.u.K. Büffel-Staffel 511’ österr.-ungarische Feldpost auf Postkarte Bukarest Zentralpost, selten, tadellos.

1918, "K.u.k. ETAPPENPOSTAMT 346" auf Feldpostkarte mit Absenderstempel 'Stabskompagnie Oberst von Kentz' nach Wien.

1859, Austrian P.O. cover from Bucharest to Triest struck on despatch with "BUKAREST / 21 FEB." handstamp in black (Tchilinghirian fig. 710) and charged 6+9=15 kreuzer to pay, boxed transit WIEN 29/2 and red arrival mark TRIEST2/3 on reverse, rastel punched for Disinfection, file fold, very fresh and fine

1861, Folded envelope from GALLATZ 20/9 with blue oneliner "FRANCO" alongside, carried by ship to Constantinopoli with Lloyd Agenzie arrival mark on reverse, usual file fold, fine and scarce

1869, unfranked folded envelope from WIEN 30/8/69 to Bucharest with taxe mark ‘50 Bani’ on front, arrival mark 3/9 on reverse. Vertical file folds and spot, otherwise fine
 

1900, 5 b. postal stationery card cancelled clear DORNA 12/SEP/900 in blue to Czernowitz with 10 h. braun postage due and clear boxed cancel. Fine and attractive

1856, Manchester to Galatz, Romania, stampless folded letter, sent prepaid at 1/1d. rate in manuscript, endorsed “Via Ostend & Vienna” with red Manchester cds. and PAID 6 FEB 1856 transit; red AUS ENGLAND PER AACHEN / FRANCO 7/2 exchange marking (van der Linden Nr. 2083) and large red “P” in circle handstamp on face, three Anglo-French accountancy notations (red) and one in blue reflecting settlement of charges; reverse with black double-circle Hermannstadt 11/2 transit and straight-line Galatz receiver, two pages of original commercial contents enclosed, typical light wear and minor creasing, overall fine and a scarce destination.

1857, Galatz / Agenzia del Lloyd: Entire letter from Galatz to Constantinople struck withclear strike of oval "AGENZIA DEL LLOYD AUSTRIACO/GALATZ" in green (Tchiiinghirian fig. 828), commercial sender mark on reverse. Some small crease of thin paper, otherwise fine.

1862, Prepaid cover from Constantinople to Paris with CONSTANTINOPLE wreathed datestamp (11/6), straight line FRANCO and VIA KUSTENDGE-VIENNA handstamps all in blue (Tchilinghirian figs. 385+384+113). Crossed to denote prepayment with reverse showing Vienna cds. (18/6) and Berlin 18/6 arrival mark, fine.

1863, Folded envelope cancelled CONSTANTINOPLE 31/8 in blue (Tchilinghirian fig. 387) and FRANCO alongside, endorsed 'via Kustendje' (Constanza), sender cachet ‘Freres Simoff Constantinople’. The route of the cover is very interesting, from Constantinople by Lloyd ship to Kustendje, per Danube and black sea railway DBSR to Cernowoda and by DDSG to Roustschouk, file folds and tiny toned, otherwise fine. Nice postal history.

1874,  5 Kr. red on envelope tied by WIEN 6/10/74, red crayon “12½” and black JNSUFFISAMENT AFFRANCHIE alongside, to Bucharest with taxe mark ‘40 Bani’ on front, arrival mark 9/10 on reverse. Flap tiny flaw, otherwise very fine

1914, PPC of Prisoners in teh ARAD Fortress and fieldpost card to the military prison Arad with pair 5 f. postage due tied by ARAD cds., two scarce cards, fine

1915/18, Two postcards from Arad and to Arad with several german, austrian and hungarian censor marks, one card with postage due 5 lei, fine pair

1917, Arad Airport first air force cancellations on Austrian fieldpost card: "K.u.K. Militärbauleitung am Flugfelde ARAD" in circle with coat of arms and twoliner with same text in violet. The airfield was based on the area where Aurel Vlaciu, a pioneer in Romanian aviation, constucted hanger and buildings with grass runways, vertical crease, otherwise fine. Unrecorded and important early aviation marks.

1917, “K.u.K. Rekonvaleszenten Abt. beim Ersatz Baon.8c. ARAD” red twoliner on fieldpost card ‘Arad.Kossuth Szobor’ to Congorad Megye, unrecorded, very fine.
