Alexandretta: 1869, entire letter to Marseilles, franked on reverse with Turkey 1868 Duloz 20 pa. green and 1 pi. yellow, perf. 13¼, tied by Arabic framed “Haleb” in blue, mailed through the French P.O. in Alexandrette with 1862 Napoléon laureated 20 c. blue, two singles including one with plate flaw “Napoleon with horn”, tied by faint GC “5079” with adjacent red framed “PAQUEBOT DE LA MEDITERRANEE”, on reverse Smyrna French P.O. transit and Marseilles arrival (August 15) cds. The adhesives with negligible faults, still fine and scarce combination usage opened out for display, probably unique with the plate variety, signed Calves

1879, 25 c. black on red rose tied to envelope by CONSTANTINOPLE GALATA 29/OCT/79, bilingual cds., adressed to Aleppo, on reverse french blue transit mark ALEXANDRETTE SYRIA. Turkey 20 para green and 1 piastre yellow 1876 issue tied by all arabic POSTAHANE-I HALEP 1278 (with crescent, A&P #3) on reverse, tiny crease, fine and attractive, vertificate du Vachat (2010).

1863, Volos (Turkey): Entire folded letter, with six pages content, marked in blue with the handstamp of the "Agency of the Hellenic Steamship Company at VOLOS", dateline 29-5-1861, red crayon ‘40’ (Lepta), sent to Syra with arrival mark on reverse, usual file folds, otherwise fine.

1918, 5 st. postal stationery card Bulgaria used during occupation of Romania, cancelled SILISTRA 8.4.18, blue german censor mark ‘GEPRÜFT 12.4.18 Postüberwachungsstelle’, black “T” in circle for taxe and blue crayon “10” alongside, addressed at first in latin script than in ottoman to ‘Braila 6th turkish army 15th unit’, so that we can assume that it was transported by the Turkish field post. Text complete written in old ottoman script by a Turkish officer, vertical fold and border faults, otherwise fine. An extremely scarce item of occupation period with turkish and german fieldpost and of great interest to the postal history of Bulgaria, Romania, Germany and Turkey

1931/32, CIDNA airmail post labels ‘PAR AVION’, two different booklets, one large size turkish-french bilingual, punched and without labels, with turkey revenues preprinted on reverse, the other small size containing 27 labels (missing 1) in french showing romanian air mail cover of 1931 imprint with tarifs for all countries on the route. The booklets advertise the 1 day flight from Paris, France to Turkey and retour. CIDNA was the name change from 1925 of CFRNA “The French-Romanian Company for Air Transport”. Fine and scarce.

1862, Tughra 20 pa. yellow, trial printing for the third issue on thin gummed paper with ‘burele’ ground, right sheet marginal block of four (Type C-D/K-L). (The tabulation of the block reports and type are according to Tevfik Kuyas). Very Fine and an extremely rare multiple. (Isfila catalogue value for single stamps 13.300,-€, block of four is unpriced).

1863, Tughra first printing 5 pia. black on rose vertical pair (less than 10 recorded), central blue band, light cancelled blue and black, showing plate flaw ‘missing corner’ on top left. Very fine, apparently only 2 vertical pairs with this variety recorded, an exceptional and rare showpiece. (Isfila Specialised No. 2 BE108, cat. value 15.000,-€)

1863, 1 pia. tete-beche pair double bisect cut on bottom and top, tied to large piece by blue ‘Battal’ cancellation with part of address, toned, flaw and tiny faults, otherwise fine and attractive. Tete-beche usages are extremely scarce.

1864, Turkey 20 pa. black on yellow third printing on thick paper, a fine horizontal pair with good to wide margins, tied to 1864 entire letter from Sarajewo to Brod, stamps clear cancelled Bosna in dots (Coles-Walker No.3, Brandt-Ceylan Type IIA no.1, RRR), very scarce blue negative postmasters arrival mark ‘BROD with leaf ornament’ (Coles-Walker No.10), file fold and tiny toned, otherwise fine and very scarce first-issue franking from Bosnia. In PROFI archive only two such covers recorded.
