10 c slate blue, horizontal strip of four and single stamp, with  5 c deep reddish brow, all touched in places, but mostly good margins, tied to lettersheet from " SANTIAGO 4 ENERO 55" to Valparaiso. A very rare and spectacular franking. Certificate BPA (1992) (Scott 5,3a)

5 c. burnt sienna, a beautiful lightly overinked example with large margins, showing parts of two neighbours stamps, tied to letter sheet with adjacent red "SANTIAGO 11 DBRE.." to Valparaiso. Extremely fine and fresh (stamp lifted for inspection and replaced). A beautiful and rare entire. Certificate BPA (1994)

5 c. burnt sienna, a very nice example with large margins, tied to letter sheet with adjacent red "SANTIAGO 20 OCRE 54" and double line "PANAMA TRANSIT" to Bordeaux. Charged in France with "21" decimes. Very fine and fresh. A most attractive and extremely rare letter, one of very few recorded of the Gillet issue to Europe.

5 c. burnt sienna, horizontal strip of four, partly touched at right and at one spot at top, otherwise good to huge margins with parts of 2 neighbour stamps and small sheet margin at base, tied to lettersheet from "TALCA 18 MAYO 55" to Santiago. Underpaid by 10 centavos, charged with "20" in manuscript and circular marking in red. An extremely rare multiple on cover. Certificate BPA (1992).

5 c. burnt sienna in combination with Second London Printing 5 c. red-brown on blued, both with large margins, tied by light 7 line target with adjacent "CONCEPCION" datestamp  to letter sheet, dated March 24, 1856, and endorsed 'Polynesian' to Valparaiso. The entire cleaned and address partly improved, still fine. An extraordinarily rare combination. Certificate Rendon AIEP (1990) and Maier BPP (1992)

5 c. dark burnt sienna (chocolate brown) with full to large margins, in combination with horizontal pair Desmadryl 5 c. pale reddish brown, left stamp touched at base, followed by a scissors cut into the right stamp, otherwise full to large margins, tied by target to letter sheet with red cds. "SANTIAGO 12 MAYO (55)" to Valparaiso. Very fine and extremely rare. Certificate Philatelic foundation (1994) (Scott 4+3)

5 c. burnt sienna in combination with Desmadryl 5 c. deep reddish-brown (with constant plate scratch of pos. 122), both touched at one side, otherwise full to large margins, tied to letter sheet with adjacent red "SANTIAGO 12 NBRE 55" to Valparaiso. An extremely rare letter, one of very few recorded with this combination franking. Certificates BPA (1999) and Moorhouse (2010) (Scott 4+3)

5 c. burnt sienna, horizontal strip of four, clear at left, otherwise good to large margins, in combination with Desmadryl 10 c. pale blue, touched at base left and with scissors cut at lower left, tied by target to letter sheet from "SANTIAGO 27 JUNIO 55" to Valparaiso. The single stamp had been lifted for inspection and replaced, otherwise very fine and fresh. A most remarkable and extremely rare combination. Certificates BPA (1992) and Moorhouse (2010)

5 c. deep chocolate brown, horizontal pair, the left stamp just clear at top, otherwise good to very large margins with parts of two neighbours stamps at left, tied by seven bars target to lettersheet with adjacent red "SANTIAGO 31 JULIO 55" to Valparaiso. Very fine and extremely rare. We have just one further such franking recorded.

5 c. deep chocolate brown with full to large margins including sheet margin with inscription "la direccion y" at base, in combination with horizontal pair 5 c. burnt sienna, right stamp tiny touched point at top, otherwise full to large margins including 11 mm sheet margin at left, tied by target to entire letter, dated "Tome, Agosto 4 1855" and endorsed "Per Palmena", to Valparaiso. Very fine and fresh. One of the most outstanding letters of Chilean philately, bearing marginal copies of both Gillet Recess values and transported by ship from a small town which possessed no datestamp at that time. Signed Alberto Diena with certificate (1963) and certificate RPSL (1981) (Scott 4a+4)

Lithographed 5 c. brown with the dramatic lithographic transfer flaw 'squeezed CENTAVOS' with just the "S" of "CENTAVOS" showing and base (Blank 5/Vt ½), leaving a 'Dwarf stamp' of only 21 instead of 23 mm in height. Nice fresh colour and full to large margins, lightly cancelled by target. A very fine and extremely rare stamp. Certificate BPA (1992) (Scott 7 var)

Lithographed 5 c. red-brown, vertical block of six with watermark inverted, just cut into at left and bottom right, otherwise mostly good margins, cancelled with 6-bar target.Very fine and very rare; just one further block of six of this stamp has been recorded and only one larger block exists. Lithographed 5 c. pale red brown, horizontal strip of six, the right stamp touched at right and the neighbours stamp touched at upper right, otherwise full to mostly large margins (tiny tear between two stamps of no importance), tied by target to letter sheet with red cds. "SANTIAGO 14 NBRE 54" to Valparaiso. A very fine and outstanding entire;  the largest recorded strip of this scarce stamp on cover. (Scott 7)

1850/1950, used collection comprising a good selection of classics, provisional overprints, airmail issues and a study of peruvian cancellations on the 1878 issue, illustrating the chilean occupation of the country during the Pacific War. In addition a handfull of covers including two postal usages of the 1880 Revenues.  An interesting collection in quite mixed condition.

1854/1985 (ca.), extensive mint never hinged/unused and used collection with over 50 covers in four albums and some stockcards, incl. officials, postage dues, tax and telegraphic stamps, starting with a good used selection of the Colon issues with duplicates, shades and a few lettersheets with multiple or bisected frankings, later issues with overprint varieties, together with a group of Chilean Occupation in Peru with Mi.-Nr. 10 unused inverted overprint (x5, all short opnion Maier AIEP), a few forged cancels or overprints for reference, etc.; an interesting assembly in overall fine to very fine condition, some early issues signed or identified by Maier BPP
