KINGMAN'S CITY POST: 2 c. black on blueish, "Kingman's" erased, top left corner sheet margins, other sides clear to touching, tied by manuscript cancel that appears to be the initial "M" (possibly Joseph G. Martin) and 1851 Washington 3c. claret, no inner frame lines, close to just touched margins tied by blue cds. "RALEIGH N.C. JU ? 1857" to envelope to Charleston with detailed street address in another handwriting, presumably applied at Charleston, part of two backflaps missing, small ink spots at top, otherwise very fine. The only recorded example of the "Kingman's" erasure on the four-line stamp, certificate PF (1975 and 2000). Provenance: Alfred H. Caspary John R. Boker Jr. Joseph Hackmey

D.O. Blood & Co.: "BLOOD'S DESPATCH 28 SO. SIXTH" handstamp and 1847 5c. red brown, clear to full margins on three sides, touched at bottom left, tied by blue cds. "PHILADA. Pa. SEP 3" to folded letter to Princeton, stamp slightly toned, very rare combination of 1847 issue with Blood's handstamp, certificate PF. Provenance: Joseph Hackmey

"Blood's Despatch" 1c. bronze with acid cancel and 5 C. dark brown, vertical pair with clear to large margins all round, all tied by blue integral-rate cds. "PHILADA Pa. APR. 15 10" to folded letter with part contents to Detroit, wax seal removed, extremely fine and on eof only three frankings of a 1847 5c pair with Scott No. 15L17, PF certificate Provenance: Joseph Hackmey

"Blood's City Despatch" 2 c. bronze and 1847 5c. red brown, clear to large margins all round tied by light blue cds. "PHILADA. PA. JAN 10" to folded letter sent to Washington, very fine and especially rare because the Blood's stamp is frequently seen with a disfiguring acid cancel and is rarely tied by a datestamp, certificate PF.  Provenance: Joseph Hackmey

CARTER'S DESPATCH: 1849, 2c. black, three huge margins, close at left but margin includes small part of adjoining stamp, used with short pen stroke cancel and 1847 5 C. red brown with clear to large margins all round tied by blue grid cancel to folded lettersheet, with adjacent blue cds. "PHILADA. PA SEP 4 5cts" to New York, very fine and extremely rare combination franking, PF certificate. Provenance: Joseph Hackmey

GLENHAVEN, N.Y." envelope to Whitestone, Long Island, slightly reduced at left, small faint waterstain on bottom, fine and a rare usage, certificate PF. Scott No. 71L3, 11
