1860, folded letter from the firm of G. Nunes & Gommez, datelined St. Thomas, 14 September, reverse with St. Thomas double-arc despatch  (15 Sep), struck on front with fine “PAID AT ST. THOMAS” Crown Circle, to Port Au Prince, Haiti, rated “1/-“ in red manuscript, horizontal filing fold, a fine entire to an uncommon destination.

1861, folded letter, datelined St. Thomas, 28 September, to Carupano [Venezuela],  with oval “Gruner & Co” (forwarding agents) sender’s handstamp, ship endorsement at lower left, reverse with fine strike of large oval “ST. THOMAS / EXPRESS / OFFICE”, horizontal fold and small stain on back clear of postmark, a rare marking, with only seven examples recorded on mail originating in St. Thomas.

1862, folded letter datelined October 26, struck on reverse with St. Thomas double split-ring despatch in black (28 Oct), to Lubeck, front with blue oval handstamp of forwarding agents Schon, Willink & Co, carried via London (14 Nov), Ostende, and Aachen (15 Nov), British “10” in black at upper left, Prussian “12” (silbergroschen) converted to “16” (schilling) in Lubeck, some light edge wrinkling and crease to back, but a scarce entire.

1866, 8 p. black on thick grey-green paper, roulette C, used with blue cds. “WIBORG”, very fine, certificate Schwenson BPP (2016)

1904, Russia 1 kop. orange, 70 copies, tied by trilingual c.d.s. "WIBORG 19.IV.04" to front and reverse of opened out registered envelope to Montevideo with arrival mark and incoming registered label. Outstanding.

1853, Napoleon 1 fr. carmine, horizontal strip of 4, the right 2 stamps touched at base, otherwise just clear to wide margins, together with 2 good margined 10 c. bistre, tied to entire double rate letter from "PARIS 30 MARS 54" to Lima, Peru, with arrival mark.The top right corner of the strip repaired, otherwise fine. A rare franking.

1862, Napoleon perforated 5 c. green, with Lauree 80 c. rose and 1871, Siege 15 c. bistre, tied by GC "2240" to entire letter from "MARSEILLE 11 MARS 72" to Mariupol with frontside transit mark of Odessa and arrival mark. Very fine 3 issues combination and rare destination.

Laurée 80 c., two copies, with Ceres 40 c., tied to entire double rate letter 1872 to Santiago de Chile, endorsed "Voie de Magellan, Vapeur 'Garonne'".Handstruck '25' centavos due upon arrival (partly on franking). A fine and scarce letter.

1870/71, Ballon montée, Gouvernement de Défense Nationale, Module de 10 centimes, over 80 copies in bronze or copper of different flights plus the original printing dies for 60 different ballons and counterpart with inscription “LES MESSAGERS PARTENT PAR BALLON-POSTE ET RAPPORTENT LES NOUVELLES PAR LA PHOTOSTENOGRAPHIE - DIRECTEUR STEENAKERS”. A unique ensamble

1870, Ballon Monté "Ville d'Orleans", folded letter to Calvados, franked with 20c blue Napoleon Lauré, tied by neatly-struck Paris "1" Star cancel, Paris / Pl. de le Bourse c.d.s. (Nov 22) alongside, endorsed "Par ballon monte" at upper left, Cherbourg a Paris TPO (Dec 9) and Trouville-sur-Mer c.d.s. (Dec 10), a fine example carried on this balloon, which landed in Norway.
